Save Strokes - Speed, Alignment, Visualization Execution

🧠💥 Save Strokes: The Art of Smart Golf

No matter your handicap, your goal is the same: lower your score. To do that, you need more than just a good swing—you need a plan, a process, and a mindset. That’s what SAVE is all about:

💡 What is SAVE?

S.A.V.E. stands for the four pillars of smart golf:

  • Speed – Control your tempo and shot speed, especially on the greens.

  • Alignment – Set up correctly every time, from tee to putt.

  • Visualization – Picture the shot before you take it. Trust your mind.

  • Execution – Commit to the plan. Swing with confidence, not hesitation.

🧩 Putting It All Together

Think like a pro from the moment you approach your ball:

  1. Assess the Situation
Wind, terrain, lie, hazards, elevation—every stroke has context. Know your speed, know your distance, commit.

  2. Pick the Right Club
Play within your ability. Choose based on strategy, not ego. Set Up Smart Align your body and clubface properly. No guessing—know your line.

  3. Visualize the Swing
See the flight, feel the tempo, and trust your target..

  4. Execute Quiet your mind. Let muscle memory and preparation take over.

🎯 SAVE Means Fewer Mistakes

Most golfers miss in four ways: left, right, long, or short.
But when you master Speed, you eliminate short.
When you master Alignment, you reduce misses.
When you Visualize and Execute, you start hitting your targets more often.

That’s how you Save Strokes.

✅ Your Mission

  • Every stroke counts.

  • Every hole has a strategy.

  • Every round is a chance to improve.

Start thinking smarter. Start Saving Strokes.

🏌️‍♂️ SAVE Strokes on Every Hole.

Use the SAVE formula—Speed, Alignment, Visualization, Execution—for every situation on the course.

1. Tee Shot (Driver or Long Club)

  • Speed: Smooth tempo > max power. Don’t overswing—control = distance.

  • Alignment: Body parallel to club-face or target line. Use intermediate target (like a broken tee).

  • Visualization: See the entire flight shape—fade, draw, straight—before stepping in.

  • Execution: Set, breathe, commit. Accelerate through the ball with balance.

📍SAVE Tip: Think about wind, slope, landing zone—not just distance.

2. Approach Shot (Irons into the Green)

  • Speed: Dial in swing tempo for distance control. Know your club’s average—not your best—yardage.

  • Alignment: Shoulders and hips square, aim club-face to the target. Pick a small target, not just the green.

  • Visualization: Picture ball flight and where you want it to land and stop.

  • Execution: Trust the club. Focus on solid contact—not swinging harder.

📍SAVE Tip: Avoid short-sided pins. Favor the big part of the green.

3. Recovery Swing (Out of Trouble: Trees, Rough, Sand)

  • Speed: Less is more. Control the ball—don’t force it.

  • Alignment: Open or closed stance based on shot shape. Aim safe, not risky.

  • Visualization: Focus on the escape route—not the flag.

  • Execution: Take your medicine when needed. Get back in position.

📍SAVE Tip: The smart recovery often saves more strokes than the hero shot.

4. Chipping & Pitching (Around the Green)

  • Speed: Feel is everything. Think in terms of rollout vs. carry.

  • Alignment: Square or slightly open stance. Align club-face to the landing spot.

  • Visualization: See the ball land and roll out to the hole.

  • Execution: Quiet wrists. Let shoulders do the work.

📍SAVE Tip: Use the lower-lofted club you can for more consistency.

5. Putting

  • Speed: Most critical. Ball should roll 12–18 inches past the hole if missed.

  • Alignment: Eyes over the ball. Putter face square to intended line.

  • Visualization: Trace the line in your mind. Feel the distance.

  • Execution: Commit to the pace. No flinching—smooth stroke.

📍SAVE Tip: Eliminate “short.” With proper speed, your odds improve.
