Power isn’t about swinging harder — it’s about rhythm, balance, and using your body efficiently. Whether you’re male or female, young or seasoned, walking every hole or riding in a cart, the SAVE Strokes Power System helps you generate distance without losing control — at any age or ability level.
Before you ever pick up a club, start with your foundation — balance and finish.
Stand tall with your feet at swing width (usually shoulder-width apart).
Cross your arms in front of your chest.
Rotate and move into your finish position — your trail foot elevated, your belly button facing the target.
Hold that finish for a moment, feeling your weight shift naturally and your body fully turned.
Do 10 reps to loosen up.
If you lose rhythm or hit a poor shot later, repeat a few to reset your balance and motion.
SAVE Tip: This is how you want to finish every swing — balanced, facing the target, and ready for the next shot.
Try this quick drill — no club needed:
Take a swing using only your trail hand (right for right-handers).
Then try with your lead hand.
You’ll feel your trail side naturally delivers more force.
Why it matters:
It teaches which side drives power and which side guides — a key step for smooth, effortless speed.
Before hitting balls, take practice swings:
Imagine your trail hand guiding the clubhead back and through.
Focus on finishing facing your target, balanced and relaxed.
Keep your eyes fixed on a focal point (grass blade or tee).
For golfers with limited mobility:
Shorten your backswing — even half swings can produce power if timed well.
Focus on rhythm and body connection rather than full rotation.
Key thought: Swing within yourself — feel connected, not strained.
Now take your balance and rhythm work to the range.
Choose a clear practice spot, that suits you eye — somewhere you can focus on your process.
Place your balls toward the back-left side of the practice tee (for right-handed golfers).
Left-handed players: reverse the setup.
Choose a flat area where you can commit to rhythm and direction.
Place the ball on the ground or a tee for a natural strike.
Keep setup simple — consistency builds confidence.
Stand behind the ball, far enough to see both ball and target.
Visualize the flight, landing point, and follow-through.
Picture your body swinging down the line at the target, hitting it crisply and cleanly.
Use alignment sticks or tees — one to the target line, one parallel for your stance.
Train your eyes and body to agree on direction.
Clubface: aimed squarely at target.
Feet & hips: parallel (for right-handers, slightly left of target).
Grip: firm but relaxed — steady pressure promotes fluid motion.
With your trail hand, take the club back slowly.
Feel as if that hand slides toward the clubface (illusion only).
This builds connection and a don’t forget to set club on backswing, should feel natural — no forcing.
Swing smoothly through the ball, staying centered and balanced.
Let your big muscles — legs, core, and shoulders — drive the motion.
Think: smooth acceleration, not brute strength.
Watch the finish and flight.
Make small changes — setup, tempo, or alignment — one at a time.
Then repeat, following SAVE:
S – Speed: smooth tempo.
A – Alignment: trust your target lines.
V – Visualization: picture success.
E – Execution: swing committed and balanced.
Every golfer — male or female, young or older — can build lasting power through rhythm, timing, and body connection.
Stay centered, visualize each swing, and let your big muscles drive the motion.
SAVE Strokes makes power repeatable, reliable, and real.
